Itinerary
Day 1: Depart the United States from JFK for a flight to Tel Aviv, Israel. Arrive in Israel the following day.
Day 2: Upon arrival in Tel Aviv, we will clear customs and board our luxury bus for a two hour ride to Tiberias, Israel. Upon our arrival at our hotel, we will enjoy a scrumptious dinner, and then retire for a much needed rest in the Holy Land (Tiberias, Israel).
Day 3: The day starts with a serene boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Then tour the northern shore the area where Jesus spent His early years of ministry. See the ruins of Capernaum the town where Jesus made His home after leaving Nazareth. View the remains of the ancient synagogue in which Jesus preached, and the house where Simon Peter lived. Then we will travel on to Tabgha where the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes took place. Then we drive through the Hula Valley; ascend the Golan Heights (occupied Syria), see the usually snow-capped Mount Hermon, and visit Banias where the ruins of Caesarea Philippi is located. After a beautiful drive along the Sea of Galilee, we will return to Tiberias via the Mount of Beatitudes site of the Sermon on the Mount. We will then overnight in Tiberias (Tiberias, Israel).
Day 4: We drive from Tiberias to Cana of Galilee, where Jesus performed His first miracle turning jars of water into wine. We then continue past Marys Well into Nazareth the home of Mary and Joseph. While in Nazareth, we will visit the Nazareth Village (city depicting the early days of Jesus). Then we proceed through Jezrael and Caesarea by the Sea (Roman Coliseum where the apostle Paul was imprisoned). Then we move on to Gods favorite city Jerusalem.
Day 5: This morning we will ascend the Mount of Olives for one of Israels most beautiful sites. Then walk down Palm Sunday Way to the Garden of Gethsemane for a time of prayer. Then we enter the Old City of Jerusalem and visit the Pools of Bethesda and St. Anne Church. Walk along the Way of the Cross the Via Dolorosa. Then we enjoy a visit to the Temple Institute where Temple implements are being prepared. Then we will experience a tour of the colorful Arab Bazaar to the Western (Wailing) Wall the last remnant of the second Jewish Temple during the time of Jesus. Then we will ascend to the Temple Mount and visit the Dome of the Rock and El Aqsa Mosque (Jerusalem, Israel).
Day 6: We will drive through the Judean desert to the Dead Sea the lowest region on earth. Then we proceed past Qumran (where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found) and view Ein Gedi (where David confronted Saul). Then on to Masada and ascend by cable car to the mountaintop. Explore the impressive ruins of the fortress built by Herod and later the site of the heroic last stand of the Jewish zealots against the Romans. On the way back to Jerusalem, we will visit the ancient Canaanite city of Jericho (walls of Jericho). We conclude the day on the shores of the Dead Sea, where you can wade the worlds saltiest water. If you do not take the Masada - Dead Sea Excursion, this will be a free day to visit any site of your choice.
Day 7: We will drive through the City of David and then on to Bethlehem where we will see Rachels Tomb and visit the Church of Nativity. This is a great place for souvenir shopping, especially olive wood. Then we move on to the Garden Tomb for a communion service in the shadows of the empty tomb and then to the Upper Room for a Holy Ghost service.
This evening we will have our farewell dinner in Jerusalem. With fond memories, we will connect with our flight home. We will arrive at JFK (Day 8) in time for you to make domestic connections for your flight home.
